Overall Visual Changes

The overall user interface of WebEx Training Center has been changed from the standard Windows 98 style look-and-feel to a modern, customized, more colorful visual standard.

Besides standardizing the UI using a common visual style guide and applying the new visual treatment to the UI, this version of Training Center also contains a lot of design changes.

In deciding whether a new design works for the existing users, we ask the following questions:

• First, does the change provide enough benefits to justify the change? Benefits may include improved user experience, gaining competitive advantage etc.
• Is the change corresponds to a task performed by the user very frequently? Existing users may have been trained to perform a common and frequent task in the old way and it is hard for them to change.
• Are there enough cue to the existing users that the design has been changed, and that changes in their usage may be needed? Are there enough instructions for them to learn about it? If there is not enough cue, users may still attempt (in vain) to perform the task the old way.
