main menu > [chinese poster]

This poster was designed for a traditional noodle shop in Hong Kong which produces its own products. This is a family-owned business, who believes that quality is more important than marketing. No investment is made on advertisements, but it gains much fame and popularity in the region. They want to have a big poster to decorate their shop and highlight some of their products so as to inform new-comers what to look for.

I approach this project by considering their corporate image. Bright red, which symbolized happiness in Chinese societies, are used as the primary color. This also sets a lively theme to the whole poster. Their business is conservative, so the design resembles more of a traditional approach, with some twists, however. For example, the two upper left characters "Traditional" is drawn in a traditional font, but are visually kinetic. The noodle bottle depicted at the lower right of the poster, which is somewhat hard to find in these days, denotes the traditional value of this shop.
